Tarryn Fisher

Write or Die

Falling Slowly for Senna

Gemma-Arterton-Glamour-UK-October-2I’m so excited I can barely stand it. Why? Why are you excited, Tarryn?  Well, as you know I’ve been writing a new book. Maybe you didn’t know this, but now you do. And I know everyone is screaming THIEF at me. I hear ya! I do. Just give me some time. Caleb is speaking, but I’m listening to more than one voice right now. Let me tell you about the new voice. Shhhhhh. Don’t fight me. Tarryn knows best.

Writing a new book is best described by Glen Hansard’s lyrics in Falling Slowly.

I don’t know you

but I want you, all the more for that.

Words fall through me

and always fool me…

Writing a story is like falling in love. At first you’re unsure of what to trust. You’ve been taken for a ride before; some things pan out, some things don’t. And now you have this voice whispering in your ear, telling you to trust it. You want to, so bad. You get to know your story, slowly. It’s just all so new. That’s where I’ve been. I know it’s good. One of you gave me the idea, in fact. It all happened in the secret Opportunist Lovers Group on Facebook. Yup, you heard me right. But, up until tonight I just liked the story. Tonight, tonight I fell in love.

Hard.

I saw my protagonist for the first time. Really, really saw her. I haven’t been bonding with her. Then, in one honest sentence, I gave her a piece of myself that I’ve never given to a character before. BAM! All of a sudden I knew which part of me she was and where I had to take her. And in that moment of realization, their entire story unfurled in front of me; Senna’s and Isaac’s.  I left Starbucks and drove Sexi Lexi up the hill to my house, laughing and smiling, and thinking; This is the greatest story I’ll ever tell. I’m going to bend their minds in ways they’ve never been bent before.

Then,  I started crying Crying! After all that laughing. Because falling in love is hard. You have to trust and accept. I saw the end of the book. I’ve had amnesia up until this moment. By the way, this book is untitled, but I’ll let you know as soon as it comes to me.

But, it’s all clear now. And boy, do I have a story to tell you. Do you trust me?

Thief! Love Me With Lies Book #3

Hell no i don’t trust you! The only thing I trust you with is taking my heart, holding it in your palm, looking at it lovingly before you crush it, bleed it dry and then stomp it in a million pieces. You, my beautifully talented friend, terrify me in the best possible way. 🙂

My god. At first I was upset that you were trying to ignore Caleb. AGAIN. Then I’m like “Who gives a F*** about Senna?!? Give me my Olivia & Caleb ending dammit!” But after reading your whole description, about how it’s like falling in love, and you cried & laugh, I completely & utterly understood what you meant so now I agree you must write it or it will consume you. I’m beginning to go through the same thing for the first time in my life too, and I’ve never written before and I’m scared sh!tless. Write what you feel girl, but don’t make us wait too l

Wow… You have peaked my interest. I am so looking forward to reading. Question is, how long are you going to make us wait for Senna? and by the way… “Falling Slowly for Senna” would make a great title.

And oh dear God, I love my Caleb… but I want you to really listen to him, feel him, love him and hate him and love him all over again and then, and only then, should you turn him to us 🙂 so I am willing to wait… Anticipation – (q cite=”…I am prepared for anything, but I am the complete agnostic…” by W.N.P. Tarryn, I trust you but (of course, there’s a but) I don’t enjoy the “mindf***”.
You made me fall in love with Caleb & Olivia, no doubt the same will happen with Senna. However (same as a but, and yes another but), I need for Caleb & Olivia to have their HEA before I can move on. They deserve it! I deserve it! I want to smile after reading Thief. My family wants me feeling warm & fuzzy not crazed & miserable.
I plan to read anything you write and I am slowly getting used to the mind bending.
You’re difinitely changing the way I view the romance genre.

I should not ask for a happy ending you might just feel you want to spite me and give me the most awefull ending that I will cry for days. I felt I needed therapy after I read the Oppertunist. I just finished Dirty Red and man she is some bad ass woman!!! I cant stand her!!!

Ms Fisher, after I read The Opportunist, you went straight into my quite small collection of authors I will read EVERYTHING they put out. You have such a way with words, and you are able to nail on the head the very minute details and nuances of a relationship, of feelings … that I could never not trust you to deliver a book well worth reading!

    Can. Not. Wait.

PS, how I wish I knew you in person, judging by the way you write.

I so rarely connect with authors through their work but there is a blunt honesty in your writing that just compels me to become completely immersed. I think deep down we can all relate to the humanity of your characters and that is what draws us all in. I’m really looking forward to more work. I don’t know if you quite understand your ability to really move people with your writing but you do just that and, I think, always will.
